More readable wheel speed during drifting

The speed-smoothing control now follows the selected amount during large wheel-speed changes. Previously, a limit kept the displayed speed within 1.5 mph of the raw reading, which undermined smoothing when the wheels spun quickly. Zero smoothing still responds immediately. Ground speed and tire-learning calculations are unchanged.

This fixes the wheel-indicated speed readout. It is not a fix for intermittent tachometer lag.

Saves, connection timing, and updates

  • Profile changes are confirmed only after settings are saved successfully. A failed save can be retried without creating another profile.
  • Calibration saves now include drivetrain and calibration revision changes, even when tire radii stay the same. The existing tire-learning rules are preserved.
  • Windows clock changes no longer affect the telemetry connection timeout.
  • Release details stay available when retrying a downloaded update.
  • Expired debug logs are cleaned up before export. Existing exported ZIPs are untouched.

Setup and release history

Setup uses the website's particle material and depth styling, with a different particle distribution and smoother faint gradients. Version labels in the release-history page no longer clip.

A shorter version name, with the same update checks

Wisp displays 1.1. Its Windows version is 1.1.0, and the release tag and installer filename retain that full number so older installations can find the update. New clients also recognize shortened version numbers and stable release labels. Installer size, SHA-256, embedded-version, and downgrade checks remain in place.

Profiles, custom colors, and everyday controls

  • Save named HUD profiles with layouts, gauges, units, sizing, opacity, and color combinations. Tire calibration and saved screen positions stay separate.
  • Use the color editor for the app accent, backgrounds, HUD border, gauge gradients, and traction hook cue, with saturation, brightness, opacity, and exact ARGB input.
  • See live torque in Nm or lb-ft, plus top speed, peak power, and peak torque.
  • Enable optional daily startup update checks and a Dashboard update banner. Read the release summary before confirming a download; nothing installs automatically.
  • Set a custom overlay hotkey, export local debug logs, and read release notes in Wisp.

The release also corrected detached HUD placement, stale tachometer fallback samples, traction cues, color-wheel input, and debug-log handling. Read the complete 1.0.10 additions and fixes.

Clearer diagnostics and Native HUD recovery

Local debug reports correlate incoming and processed telemetry, packet freshness, UI delays, native-data failures, composition gaps, focus changes, and Wisp's resource usage. Collection continues during a UI stall. A readable summary explains the evidence, likely affected component, uncertainty, and next useful step.

Logging is optional, local, and bounded. Wisp does not upload reports, measure game FPS, or claim to identify every Windows or GPU problem. Review an exported ZIP before sharing it.

Version 1.0.12 also fixed a Native HUD recovery case after opening settings during a race and removed the outer update-confirmation outline. Read the complete 1.0.12 changes and diagnostic guidance.
